Mountain herbs honey is collected from wild herbs growing on the slopes of Taygetos at an altitude of 600-1000 meters. It includes nectar from oregano, thyme, sage, mountain tea and many more aromatic herbs. It has an intense, complex aroma and contains natural essential oils with beneficial properties for the respiratory system.
Producer's Story
Collecting this honey requires moving the hives to remote slopes of Taygetos, where self-sown herbs create a natural meadow full of aromas. Every August we go up there with my father to check the hives and collect this special honey. The scent of herbs fills you already from the car.
Seasonal Story
The August 2024 harvest gave us a honey with particularly intense aroma. The summer drought concentrated the essential oils in the herbs, and the bees transferred this impressive aromaticity to the honey. Each jar smells like walking on a mountain trail.
